Authorities say K9 Shaw was located around 12:30 p.m. Monday in St. Lawrence County.

Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said the Belgian Malinois was found by her partner who had been searching the area near the kennel.

The 3-year-old dog escaped from Borderline Kennel on County Route 28 in Lisbon sometime between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

K9 Shaw had last been seen a short distance from the kennel.

State police had issued a request for assistance from the public in locating the missing dog.

Fleishman, who is the public information officer for state police Troop B in Ray Brook, said the dog was in good health.

K9 Shay is named in memory of fallen Trooper Shawn Snow. He died in Ogdensburg in August 2008 while helping the driver of an antique fire truck which had a flat tire. The 47-year-old Snow was electrocuted when the truck's ladder came into contact with high voltage power lines. He had join the New York State Police in October 1989.
