The Los Angeles Dodgers downed the New York Mets 3-1 October 13 to even their best-of-five playoff series at 2-2.  Clayton Kershaw pitched seven strong innings to earn the win.  Steven Matz started for New York and gave up all three runs.  Former Met Justin Turner had the big hit for the Dodgers with a two-run double. Daniel Murphy ripped a solo home run for New York.

Kershaw was just 1-6 with a 4.99 ERA in postseason competition prior to the victory.  .  Jacob deGrom is the scheduled New York Mets' starter while Zack Greinke gets the ball for the Dodgers October 14.

The winner of the Mets versus Dodgers deciding game will play the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series beginning this weekend.
