The New York State Department of Transportation and Broome County Department of Public Works are holding meetings May 23 to talk to residents about a couple important construction projects.

The Broome County DPW and the Town of Union DPW are holding a public information meeting at 6 p.m. at the Town of Union Offices to talk about the proposed reconstruction of sidewalks along Farm to Market Road from the Maine Endwell Senior High School to Chrysler Road.  The Town Hall is located at 3111 East Main Street.

The New York State DOT is meeting with interested parties from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Colesville Town Hall to go over plans for culvert replacement on Dilly Road.

The proposed work will involve about a two-week closure of Dilly Road at the intersection with State Route 7.  During the work, traffic will use a three-mile detour that should take about six minutes.  Construction is currently scheduled for the 2019 season.

The DOT says about 60 vehicles use the road daily.

The Colesville Town Hall is located at 780 Welton Street, Harpursville.
