Ok, so his name is unfortunate, but his talent is very fortunate!

The only time people really knew who Matthews was, outside of Seattle, was when he recovered the ball during an onside kick to effectively win the NFC championship against the Packers.

Now, he is known as the momentum changer in the Super Bowl. He caught an essential pass, his first career reception, to set up a Seattle score and then caught the TD that tied the game going into halftime.

Where did Chris Matthews comes from?

Well, he played football for the Kentucky Wildcats, but was signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He was released shortly before the start of the season and headed to Canada and was the Canadian Football League rookie of the year in 2012, while a Winnipeg Blue Bomber.

After an injury plagued 2013, the Seahawks signed him in 2014. The found him working at Footlocker and asked him to try out. He even had to ask to leave work early to make the tryout. You can't make this stuff up. Great call!

If the Seahawks had won, he would have been the MVP for sure. Look for Matthews to have a big career now.
