Authorities say 26-year-old Robert Dickson of Binghamton has been charged with three counts of petit larceny.

Investigators say police received several reports of car break-ins at the State Street ramp on October 19. Various items were stolen from the vehicles.

Dickson was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and sent to Broome County Jail.

Detectives say some of the property taken from one car has been recovered.

Police say people with information about larcenies from vehicles may contact investigators at 607.772.7080.

Dozens of vehicles were damaged in "smash-and-grab" break-in at the State Street and Water Street garages earlier this year.

One man who was arrested in connection with some of those cases told cops that if cars were locked, he would simply use a spark plug to smash a window.

Last February, two dozen vehicles parked in the State Street ramp were damaged in a vandalism spree. No arrests were reported in that case.
