It's no secret that area schools are struggling financially. Sports, music and other extracurricular activities have taken the hit.

Maine Endwell had hoped to have a new baseball field to replace their well worn one (30 years old). Also on their wishlist were lights for the football field. Enter 1988 graduate Thomas Tull. You may not recognize his name, but they know it well in Pittsburgh Steeler country! He is part owner of that team and an executive at Legendary Entertainment.

Tull decided it's time to give back to his school and give he did to the tune of 2.2 million dollars. Thanks to Tull's gift, construction is slated to begin in the next few months after plans have been approved.

The new baseball field and lighted football field will be more utilized after completion, including by community groups. You know the saying "build it and they will come." That they will!
