Looking Back on Local Amusement Parks

Some of you will remember the days of area amusement parks. We had Fraley’s in Waverly New York, Kiddieland on Upper Stella Ireland Road in Binghamton,  and Skyline Amusement Park in Owego (Tioga Center) NY.

I just read a story about Skyline Amusement Park and that some of the original carousel horses are being auctioned off in the Vestal Parkway auction house along with carousel parts.

My dad use to take my brother and me to the local area amusement parks in the 60’s and early 70’s. We would ride the bumper cars, ferris wheel, trains and even the carousel at Skyline, which closed its doors in the 1980’s.

From Elmira to Scranton we had the opportunity to experience the now ghost parks that live in our memories.
