Saturday morning, we lost a great man. For anyone that knew John aka Bear, I don't have to tell you what an honor it was to have him in my life. He was not just a friend and a co-worker, he was part of my family here.

John came back to the fire station after a call and went to sleep. He had a heart attack in his sleep and did not wake up. His calling hours will be held tomorrow, Tuesday from 4-7pm at J.A. McCormack and Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street Binghamton. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton.

John's family is requesting that instead of flowers, you donate to The Professional Firefighters Cancer Research Fund, one of the many causes John was involved in. www.letsfirecancer.org

For those of you that don't know, Bear was involved in music from a very young age and helped build a local recording studio I work at. I will never forget the great times we had, the memories we shared and how proud he is going to be when he looks down and sees that Mansion Audio has made it. 607 musicians, play on for Bear, he wouldn't want anything less.I love you Bear, you are missed and we will never forget all you have done and the lives you have touched.
