Alig plans to marry Michelle Steigerwald in July. The following month, they intend to open Waterman's Distillery in a renovated barn on Route 434 in Apalachin.

During a conversation on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Alig discussed how his interest in producing whiskey led to his decision to set up the new business.

Alig described some of the work he and his future wife have done over the past couple of years to prepare the barn for a new life as a distillery and an event space.
