Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]An 11th hour plea deal is to send a Vestal man to prison for eight years for making methamphetamine in his mobile home.

Closing arguments were about to get underway in the drug trial of 49 year old Raymond Dickerson when he jumped onto the deal to plead guilty to felony attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in exchange for the 8 year sentence.

Dickerson was being tried for meth manufacturing from an April arrest at Stewart’s Trailer Park.  He had been earlier arrested the previous July at the trailer park, also for meth manufacture.  In the earlier conviction, Dickerson was sentenced to three years in prison.

In addition to the eight years behind bars for the latest plea deal, Dickerson will be on five years parole.
