Last weekend, on September 17th, I celebrated my 32nd birthday. My plans? Party with a purpose! A couple of years ago, I was introduced to one of the biggest, nicest, most awesome group of "misfits" you'll ever hear of. The group is New York State Chive (a state chapter unofficially connected with Chive Charities). Last Saturday, on my birthday, they were holding a big meetup in Utica with all donations to benefit 315K For The Cure.

315K For the Cure donates all proceeds it raises to the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York.
...Now in our third year our goal remains the same: to help families fight pediatric cancer. "

We came. We partied. We raised a TON of money! The results just came in this morning:

All of our planning culminated last Saturday at the Celtic Harp at the Third Annual Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day event.  We are proud to announce that we were able to raise a total of $12,500!!!!!!!! "

I can honestly say that being a part of this group is one of the proudest aspects of my life. Since meeting the group a couple of years ago, I have taken on the role as a sub-chapter administrator for the Southern Tier, so anyone with any questions regarding the upcoming activities, becoming a part of this awesome group, etc, you know how to get ahold of me!
