The Kopernik Observatory and Science Center is a big winner.

An online voting contest has been won by the Center’s plans for a science, technology, engineering and math driven playground at the facility in Vestal.

The USA Today Network, A Community Thrives competition is awarding Kopernik $100,000 dollars.

The award is coming in two allocations with half the money coming now with the rest in January.
