There has been a bunch of snow in the Northeast this winter, but that shouldn't excuse you from being "snow polite."

There are some rules, written and unwritten, that should be followed. Here are a few.

1. Obey your town's parking rules. I can't tell you how many cars I have seen this year that ignored the rules and then plows couldn't clean up the roads. These rules are in place for a reason people!

2. If someone takes the time to shovel out a parking space and holds it, don't be a douche and park there. If you shoveled and someone did that to you, you would go ballistic. Some locales have 48 hour rules allowing people to park in the spots they have shoveled and place hold them. A New Yorker visiting Boston recently found out the consequences for ignoring a place holder's sign. See? And last year in Ohio, another driver made the consequences perfectly clear, too.

3. Don't shovel snow into the road. Not only is it dangerous, but it is illegal.

4. Shovel off your vehicle. Yes, I am talking to you too, 18 wheelers! It is illegal to drive with snow on your vehicle and if you've driven behind a car or truck and been "blinded" by the snow coming at your car you know why.

We've been driving through enough winters to know these rules, but many people blow them off.  Consequences. There are always consequences... I like to refer to it as karma, though.
