The New York Knicks are getting ready for the upcoming season with a new group of free agents to augment their team play this year.

The coaches, players and fans are excited about the new acquisitions to the line up, and they'll get their first look next Tuesday as the new look Knicks will play their first preseason game in Houston.

The makeover includes Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, with guards Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee, and the talents of last years draft pick Kristaps Porzingis and the veterans Carmelo Anthony, Lance Thomas, Kyle O'Quinn, Lou Amundson and Sasha Vujacic.

The Knicks also have a new head coach in Jeff Hornacek, who has had some success both as a player and a head coach.

This looks really good on paper and I think Phil Jackson has done a great job being patient and waiting out the first year to get the cap money that was needed to bring these players to the team.

The next month will be preparations and six preseason games before the season opener on October 25th in Cleveland to take on the NBA champion Cavaliers.

I am excited to see this team in action, and to see how they compete against other teams this season.

I am still predicting this years Knicks team will be playing in the post season. (and again I hope I don't regret those words)

Go Knicks!
