Kish and McGrattan to Enter Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame

Larry Kish and Brian McGrattan have been selected for induction into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame.  The pair will be honored in ceremonies prior to this Friday night's (April 6) Binghamton Devils home game against the Syracuse Crunch set for a 7:05 PM faceoff.

Kish had a lengthy coaching career  that  included stints as coach of the Broome Dusters in both the North American and American Hockey Leagues as well as the Binghamton Barons in the NY-Penn League and the Binghamton Whalers in the American Hockey League.  Kish's most successful season came in the 1981-82 campaign when the Whalers advanced to the Calder Cup Finals where the New Brunswick Hawks defeated Binghamton four games to one.  That was the best American Hockey League season in Binghamton history until the Binghamton Senators won the Calder Cup by defeating Houston in 2011.

McGrattan spent three seasons in Binghamton from 2002-2005 and saw action in 196 regular season games.  He scored 2 goals and added 22 assists for 47 points.  The hard-nosed forward racked up 1,051 minutes in penalties over those seasons. His 551 minutes in penalties in the 2004-05  AHL season remains a league record. He saw action in 317 National Hockey League games.  McGrattan played with four National Hockey League (NHL) teams including Binghamton's parent team in Ottawa.

Friday's induction ceremonies will be held on the ice prior to the Binghamton Devils home game versus Syracuse.
