99.1 The Whale was at the Wheeler/Tennent Benefit for the family of Kenzee Wheeler on Saturday. Four year old Kenzee passed away after a tragic vehicle accident in a driveway in November.

It was extremely touching to watch as a sea of people streamed in to Golden Oaks Golf Course in Windsor. The support for Kenzee's family helps the healing. It was also great to see how many organizations and people donated baskets for the raffle. There were tons! Four bands donated their time to perform throughout the night.

Iva Jean Tennent, Kenzee's Grandmother, spoke to kick off the event. She thanked everyone for coming and for their continued support. It was a teary-eyed moment. She asked that it be a celebration of Kenzee. And it was.

Rebecca, Melissa and the rest of Team Kenzee did a fabulous job of keeping things running smooth. They deserve a big thanks. We were honored to be a part of it.

I talked with Melissa, and she noted that donations will continue to be taken. So, if you couldn't make the benefit and wish to help the Wheeler/Tennent family get through this difficult time, you may call Melissa to do so at 760-7473.

Thank you, Southern Tier, for pitching in.
