As if a Leap Year wasn't bad enough, now we are getting introduced to the Leap Second.

IT guys around the globe have to be freaking out. On June 30th, there will officially be a time of 11:59:60. Yep. One second will be added.

Who has the authority to make such a decision and why would they? The International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service is the planet's official time keeping agency and they are opting for the extra second to keep the atomic clock synched to the Earth's rotation.Oh, and they have an honest to goodness website!

Want to know something weirder? This will be the 26th time they will do this! We weren't told about the other 25, the first of which happened in 1972.

This one tiny second could very well cause a panic like "Y2K." We all know what happened there!
