Mark David Chapman, who shot John Lennon in front of the Beatle member's NYC apartment in 1980, was denied parole for the 7th time today according to the New York State Dept. of Corrections.

Chapman, 57,  shot John Lennon 4 times in front of Yoko Ono and later admitted he did it to become famous. After pleading guilty to second degree murder, Chapman began serving his 20 years to life sentence.

He's up for parole in 2014.
