Authorities say 21-year-old Brian Harrison of Murphy Avenue was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on Route 201.

Detectives say Harrison was the subject of an investigation into the report of stolen long guns from a vehicle in Johnson City.

In addition to the handgun and rifle, police found a 12-gauge shotgun as the result of a search. The two long guns had been reported stolen to the village police.

Investigators say some cocaine and ecstasy also were confiscated from the vehicle.

Harrison was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Harrison was sent to Broome County Jail after his arraignment.
