Janis Joplin – Classic Rock Pick of the Week

Where were you in 1969? If your answer is "I wasn't born yet", I don't want to hear it. That just make me feel old, and mentally I'm still 13, so let's keep it that way!

If you were around that year, you may have been aware of, or maybe were lucky enough, to be at another rock festival that was not Woodstock. I'm talking about the International Raceway Festival in West Palm Beach, Florida.

This festival included rock greats such as The Band, The Moody Blues, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, Ten Years After, King Crimson, The Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin.

On November 29th, Janis Joplin took the stage performing eight songs along with a 2 song encore. One the songs of course was Piece of My Heart. She was at the top of her game. Unfortunately, we lost a great person and musician much too early.
