NY State Trooper Christopher Skinner was killed during a traffic stop by a hit and run driver today. My blood is boiling. it was one hundred percent preventable!

Driving is a privilege, it is not a game and cars are not toys. Yet, every day I see people driving and acting like "the road is mine not yours! Gimme!" They swerve into lanes, cut people off, speed, and use cell phones. They run red lights (downtown Binghamton anyone?). It has to stop NOW.

An officer was killed. A driver was killed by exit 230 on I-81 two weeks ago as he looked at his disabled car. Really? The road is not yours. It is time we stop being selfish and use our brains when we drive.

And what the hell is up with speeding up to 85 or 90 miles an hour to beat everyone into the construction zones? That is amazingly stupid and selfish. You gain a total of 2 seconds for creating massive risk of life and limb. You know you curse others who drive like an ass, but how do you drive?

Before you comment, think about how YOU drive. Do you tailgate? Do you fail to use your blinkers? Do you speed or cut into lanes?

I think it is time we all stand up..all of us.. and pledge to work harder at driving civilly. Think about others when you get behind the wheel. You are in control of a weapon.
