My pup, Cocoa, is no longer a pup. At age 11, she gets bored really easy. That leads her to forage around the house for anything entertaining and get in trouble.

Today I made it my mission to get her toys that would challenge her while I am not with her. You would not believe how crazy dog toys are now! Forget about balls and squeaky toys, how about dog Monopoly or Twister? Maybe some dog Poker or mind and IQ games? Seriously, I got a headache trying to decide what to buy.

And here is the key: you have to match your dog's personality to the type of games out there. Cocoa is pretty smart but can't catch a ball to save her ass, so coordination building games are good. IQ stuff wouldn't hurt, but advanced fetching games and things along that line are off the list.

Dogs love to be challenged and we, their pet parents, need to step up sometimes. As dogs get older we reduce their activity, when we actually need to keep it steady. Now I know and so do you. By the way, you can find these toys anywhere on line.

Cocoa will have a blast opening her presents next week!
