No, our states have not been overeating. As for the humans that reside in these two states and the rest of the United States, well that's a different story.

A recent poll conducted by the Gallup-Healthways Well Being Index shows the obesity rate for all U.S. states. New York State did fare well in the survey, coming in at number 8 on the least obese side. Pennsylvania did not fare so well, landing in the 33rd spot.

The top five leanest states in America are Hawaii, Colorado, Montana, California and Massachusetts. The five most obese states are Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, West Virginia and Mississippi. The states that fare better than most, lie on the east and west coasts. Middle America for the most part, needs to shed some pounds. Their middle could stand some thinning.
