Some minor flooding linked to ice jams and melting snow has been reported in the Binghamton area.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday for a section of Windsor after water in the Occanum Creek started rising. The primary problem spot was near the creek's confluence with the Susquehanna River.

Ice and water were backing up along the creek toward Main Street and the Windsor School District bus garage. Emergency management officials said at least one property was taking on water.

Water levels began receding a short time later. But officials continued to monitor the area because ice remained on the creek with more runoff expected.

One lane of Court Street near Colesville Road in the town of Kirkwood was closed Tuesday afternoon because of rising water conditions in the Stratton Mill Creek.

New York State Department of Transportation workers used heavy equipment to remove large chunks of ice from the creek in an effort to keep water from flowing across Court Street.

The ice condition was located just north of the Frito Lay production facility.
