I have had my fair share of relationships over the years. The two most successful and enjoyable relationships I had were both with people I was friends with first for several years before we started dating.

If someone really wants to get to know you, they will. It doesn't matter if you start off as friends or something more. The problem is when someone claims they want to know you and immediately puts you into little categories and becomes judgmental when you do tell them certain things. I think we are all guilty of this, myself included.

So, should we tell someone who is interested in us the things they claim they want to know or the good things that they only really want to know? Life is about the good and the bad. How can you appreciate someone at their best when you can't handle them at their worst?
