First of all, I want to say a big thank you to all of our Veterans out there who are serving our country right now, have served in the past, and will in the future. We would not be here without you and I think it's important to acknowledge them everyday, not just on this day set aside for them.

Do you have someone in your life that has served our country and you aren't sure how to thank them? I came up with some simple little things you can do to let them know you care.

1. Just say thank you! It seems simple and silly but they will appreciate it. Just shoot them a text or give them a call and tell them you are grateful and hope they have a wonderful day.

2. Buy them lunch. Going out to lunch today and not sure who you are going with if anyone? Go out with one of your friends that has served our country. The gesture is small but they will appreciate it.

3. Say thank you to a complete stranger. I have been with my parents before and ran into service men and woman. We simply give them a nod or shake their hand and say thank you. Buy them a coffee if you are in line at Dunkin Donuts. Just the fact that you are acknowledging them will make them happy and remind them why they do what they do.

4. Make them a meal. You are probably going to be cooking dinner anyways, why not cook it for someone who has served our country?

5.Visit a cemetery. Just because you don't personally know someone who has served our country, doesn't mean you can't do anything. Go put a dozen roses, go to a cemetery, and put one rose on twelve different tombstones of those that have served our country.

I think the most important way to celebrate today is to just be thankful and acknowledge people that have served our country. Thank you to all of our veterans, have a great day!
