Another summer holiday has come and gone. We're traveling through the season too fast in my opinion.

Maybe it's just that time seems to move faster as we get older, I'm not sure. But as you may know, Summer is my favorite time of year, and I enjoy every minute of it from June 21st through September 23rd. Yes late Spring and early Fall are good also.

Unfortunately, so far this year, it's been a wet Spring and Summer, but I have hopes it will turn around. Back to the subject on hand, first, I hope you had a fun 4th of July, and were able to take some time off to enjoy with family, friends, or whatever you like to do on this holiday. For me, it means spending the extended holiday at the campground. There's lots to enjoy, like a campground fireworks show that seemed to last a long time (a good thing), hanging out around the campfire with neighbors and friends, watching the golf cart parade and drinking my favorite lager.

Although, this year, I finally caught up with the campground neighbors, and bought a golf cart. It's not one of those new fancy-type carts. Mine was manufactured sometime in the early 80s, but it runs, and that's all that matters. That meant for the first time, I could be in the parade, rather than just watching it. Turns out, it was a lot of fun. My golf cart was decorated in it's 4th of July finest, but I forgot one ingredient - candy. As we traveled through the parade, most were throwing candy to the kids. I was not popular at all with the younger set. I felt like the Grinch, and it felt kind of good! I'll be better next year...maybe.

All in all, it was a good 4th of July, even thought it was pouring rain from the overnight into late morning, turning my lawn into a swamp, and my lawn mower finally decided to die on me. That's a story for another time. I hope your holiday fared a bit better. Happy 4th of July!
