Another trip for local veterans to see the war monuments in Washington D.C. may be possible thanks to the first Sunset 5K run at the Binghamton airport.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and Commissioner of Aviation, David Hickling presented a check for $1,000 to the Twin Tiers Honor Flight program.

Twin Tiers Honor Flight is a non-profit organization that provides veterans with a free flight and trip to the memorials.

July 8th, the first Runway Sunset 5K run was held at sunset on the Greater Binghamton Airport’s newly rehabilitated runway, giving runners the chance to see the work and to enjoy a view of the valley at sunset.
