Another horror movie has been remade and is in theaters now. The new version of the 1982 horror classic, Poltergeist has been introduced to a new generation of movie goers.

I just had to see the new version this past weekend, so here's my review of the remake.

The movie is set in a new time, which you see right from the opening scene with the boy playing video games on his iPad.

The remake is also in 3D, which brings a different feel when it comes to special effects. I thought they did a good job with that!

Whenever I see a remake, there are certain things you just seem to expect to see in the film, and of course with Poltergeist, it was the famous television scene with the little girl saying, "They're here...".

I thought the film followed the original in quite a few areas, including the creepy looking tree, the clown, and the hole in the ceiling with the rope.

Poltergeist 2015 has taken in around $38 million in it's first two weeks, but in all fairness it's been up against some big movies.

I would give the remake a C+, but I'm sure younger audiences who have never seen the original in theaters might enjoy it more.
