Hillcrest Couple Charged in Chase in Broome and Chenango Counties
A Hillcrest couple is facing charges after leading Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies on a pursuit in Colesville and into Chenango County shortly after 7 p.m. April 16.
Authorities say the driver, 31 year old Kenneth Boyd Junior, was wanted on a warrant but drove off after being approached by authorities at a parking lot in the Town of Fenton. After being chased into Chenango County and back into Colesville, the pickup truck was halted by stop sticks. Before halting the vehicle, however, officials say Boyd intentionally swerved into the side of a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol car, causing damage to the right front fender.
Boyd reportedly refused to get out of the 2000 Ford pickup and Deputies used a Taser to bring him under control and take him into custody. Authorities say passenger, 30 year old Tiffany Hemion was apprehended as she attempted to flee the truck.
Boyd is charged with violation of probation on the warrant, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a vehicle, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
Hemion is charged with obstructing governmental administration and hindering prosecution.
Boyd was sent to the Broome County Jail while Hemion was released to appear in Town of Fenton Court at a later date.
There were no injuries reported.
