According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, a deputy found 60-year-old Raymond Lewis at the Motel 6 on Upper Front Street.

The deputy determined that the Brooklyn man was in violation of his parole which prohibits him from leaving New York City.

Lewis and a woman who was with him were questioned by the deputy and parole officers. The deputy was advised by the woman that Lewis told her to hide drugs when police knocked on the motel room door.

Investigators determined Lewis had possessed 29 grams of heroin and 45 grams of crack cocaine.

Lewis was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also was charged with criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lewis also is expected to be charged in New York City in connection with the alleged violation of parole.
