The Preservation Association of the Southern Tier, or PAST, has posted a public hearing notice on its Facebook page publicizing the meeting at 5:40 p.m. January 14 to talk about development of the Decker Mansion across from the Roberson museum and mansion.

The notice from the City of Binghamton Planning Commission says the hearing will concern the application of Josh Bishop for a special use permit to convert to a multi-unit dwelling the property at 31 Front Street.

The plans, according to the notice, call for four residential units, three of them six-bedroom units and one 16-bedroom unit, for a total of 34-bedrooms.

The application is available for review by appointment at the Department of Planning at Binghamton City Hall.

The Decker Mansion, built at around 1903, had recently been used as office space.  Before being sold to the SaveAround marketing group, the mansion had been owned by the Roberson Museum.
