TODAY is my first weigh in day and I have to say I was a little scared of the results. That's because last Saturday I went off the reservation a bit with some good sweet eating stuff that my friend Betty made at the Greene Flea and Farmers Market. I also had a piece of chocolate cake when I was all done for the day. So in my mind, I wasn't sure where I would be at,  this morning as today is, D-Day!

I am proud to say, that through my efforts the rest of the week, I was as strict as a porochial school nun when it came to stuffing the hole under my nose. I stepped on the scale this am, and it read..... Tympany roll...... A 5 LB LOSS! Woot Woot! Woot!

I have been logged onto myfitnesspal.com all week long and it really does help you keep track off all you eat, and it allows others to be able to share info with me to help me attain my goal of an 80 lb weight loss.

80lbs? think about it. That's like carrying around two 40 lbs bags of dog food every where you go. It gets kind of tiring on the knees and the back. It also stinks when you go to buy a pair of pants, which I had to do last week. I'm a short-pants guy, so when the colder weather hits and I have to buyer a larger set of Wally leg warmers, that's when I say NO MORE!

I haven't started to walk yet, as I hurt my lower back earlier this week, but I will today, at least 30-minutes a day, 5 x a week. What? You don't have have the time? MAKE IT! You make appointments to be at your sales calls, you make appointments to get the car fixed and the tires rotated, then make an appointment FOR YOURSELF! Pencil yourself in for a half hour walk at least 5x a week and watch the weight fly off. (don't forget to check with your doc to make sure that's cool to do)

It's onto the first day of week number two, and my goal this week is to loose at least 3 lbs. I'm giving myself two weeks to get under the 280 lb mark. So that is my two week diet-weight loss goal.

Healthful tip of the day... Shop primarily on the outside aisles of the supermarket. This is where the fresh veggies, meats, poultry and chicken are. They are in most cases natural, contain no additives, salts or simple sugars. You'll find those in the deep-dark inside aisles.

Remember, the hardest part of getting healthy and losing weight is.... GETTING STARTED! So... let's go
