Charles Robert Watts was born on this date in 1941. Better known as 'Charlie', he came into the world in London England.

Charlie grew up in Wembley and first became interested in drumming at around the age of 13. He played in a few bands before joining the Rolling Stones, including jazz bands early on.

It was 1963 when he joined up with Mick and the band, and the rest is history. Charlie has also released nine solo albums, several as the Charlie Watts Quintet. He is also a member of the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame.
