Happy 50th Birthday Lava Lamp!

We've all watched them, chilled to them and mused at how they work. The lava lamp! Today it is 50 years old and still going strong.

I will never forget having an argument with my Dad and knocking my lava lamp over. Guess what the lava part had in it? Mineral oil! It was hell to get off the hardwood floor. Boy was Dad ticked off.
