The Southern Tier will be "undead" with ghosts, ghouls, and zombies tonight! It will also be a hotbed of accidents if we are not careful.

Halloween is the single most dangerous day for pedestrians and one of the highest for accidents. Many people will be celebrating at bars and trick or treating. These to things alone push the amount of foot traffic to very high levels.

So, if you are going to drink or taking kids door to door, please be extra vigilant of vehicles on the roadways and, when crossing roads, cross them at corners or in crosswalks. Do not just go out into the road.

Rain may make tonight a little more dangerous, so please be aware that drivers may not see you in time to stop.

Drivers: be extra cautious when driving. Keep speeds down in residential neighborhoods, as well.

Now that we are all aware, have fun!
