Guns N' Roses rumors are a time-honored tradition, and there's nothing like an Axl Rose-related April Fool's gag to get a fan's hopes up. The latest round of rumors surrounding the band could include some promising signs for the upcoming GNR tour, but they're all still unconfirmed — and April 1 is just around the corner.

Currently making the rounds is an unsourced rumor (courtesy of Blabbermouth) that suggests the group plans to play "an intimate warm-up show" on Friday (yep, April 1) at one of the Los Angeles clubs where the classic lineup cut its teeth in the '80s. As many quickly noted, that date dovetails with the Steven Adler show at the Whisky a Go-Go that was recently canceled with promises of a "big announcement" to follow.

UPDATE: The Whisky has added a show to tomorrow night's schedule by the GNR tribute band Hollywood Roses, which many are speculating will be a performance by the real band. The Lightfighters, Hyfe and Unknown Fate are also on the bill. Tickets for the show are available at the door only. Not so surprisingly, rumors are now swelling that Guns N' Roses will indeed be performing at the club Friday night.

Naturally, this has sparked further speculation that Adler could be included in the partially reunited classic lineup when it hits the road this spring — and that only intensified after the band's social media accounts started posting photos of instruments, including a shot of drumsticks. As Loudwire reported, a number of fans approached ex-GNR drummer Matt Sorum as well as (presumed) current band member Frank Ferrer to ask whether they use the brand of sticks pictured in the photo, and both confirmed that they do not.

The Adler reports join recent rumors suggesting Rose will front AC/DC for a round of upcoming tour dates, all of which is keeping fans busy guessing about what's really going on behind the scenes while the group finishes prepping for what looks like at least a 20-city tour. For the moment, all we really know is that Slash and Duff McKagan are back in the fold, and Alice in Chains will be opening — and the picture will presumably get clearer, one way or another, on April 1.
