I was sitting in my office on Groundhog day, and a thought came to mind. I wondered if the little guy will see his shadow today. Then it hit me, who really cares? How many people actually believe a fat little rodent can predict when spring will arrive?

The world is full of people who believe in silly superstitions and rituals, so I thought I would make mention of a few today.

Most of us are introduce to a silly ritual from the time our parents plop a birthday cake in front of us and say, 'make a wish and blow out the candles'. Think back to those days. How many of us actually believed our wish would come true?

Did you ever pick a four leaf clover and keep it with you because you believed it would bring you good luck?

How about those superstitions, like walking under a ladder, having a black cat cross your path, or the ultimate day of bad luck, Friday the 13th?

The world is full of rituals and superstitions, and without thinking most of us buy into a few.

I know I have, but Groundhog's Day is not one of them.

In case you want the truth, here is the Official Countdown to Spring. Also, here's a list of Common Superstitions and Myths for you to read through.

How many do you believe?
