I am glad to see that Veteran's Day, which is tomorrow, is becoming a bigger event every year. It should be huge! It takes a special kind of person to be able to risk life and limb, sacrifice time with family and more to serve our Country.

Businesses are catching the wave and offering discounts or deals to military, both active and inactive for tomorrow. Some continue it all year round. The rule of thumb is to inquire during off holiday times.

On a personal note, I can't thank you service members enough. You make me proud. We owe you!

Here are some of the deals Veterans are being offered.Many of these are year round.

Applebee’s- On Tuesday, November 11th, from open to close, veterans and active duty military can choose from a free signature Thank You Meal menu that includes some of Applebee’s favorite items.  Must present valid Veteran’s form of identification or be in uniform.

Big Lots- Discount for Veteran's Day is 10% off for active duty, reservists, and dependents. They do have a discount for Veterans. You need to ask.

Boscov's- They do have discounts. just present your military ID. If you are a Veteran, show your VA ID.

Chuck E. Cheese’s-  All U.S. Armed Forces veterans and active-duty military get 20 free tokens upon a visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s from Sunday, November 9, through Saturday, November 15. Military ID or proof of service is required, but no coupon is needed.

Denny's - Free all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 for all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service.

Dollar General - They provide a military discount year round.

Dunkin Donuts- Military discounts vary by location.

Family Dollar - 10% off any purchase in store on Veterans Day.
Must have a valid ID/proof of service to qualify. (Military ID, VA ID card, Drivers License With Veteran Designation)

Friendly's- Free Big-Two-Do Breakfast with coffee. Lunch - Free burger and fries. Year round discount of 10%.

Home Depot –  Home Depot offers the 10 percent discount year-round for active duty and retirees.

IHOP-  On Veteran’s Day, November 11, participating IHOP Restaurants around the nation will be honoring the brave men and women who have served, or are serving, in the United States Military by offering them free Red, White and Blue pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At some locations, the Red, White and Blue pancakes will be featured as part of a free combo plate including eggs, bacon and hashed browns

KFC- Discounts may vary by location.

K-Mart - Select Kmart's have a standing military discount of 10% - 20% depending upon location. They are offering Veterans Advantage members online discounts on their visit to Kmart.com. Enjoy a broad range of savings — Home, outdoors, clothing, and even pets.

Krispy Kreme- A free doughnut and small coffee will be given to anyone who identifies themselves as a veteran or active duty military personnel (no ID required). Only at participating locations.

Little Caesars- All United States armed forces veterans and active military members get a free order of Crazy Bread with proof of military status at participating stores nationwide this Veterans Day.

LOWES - May have a specific Veteran's Day discount. 10% off year round cannot be combined with other coupons Lowe's is offering.

Mohegan Sun– Mohegan Sun offers active and retired military members a special hotel $99 room rate available from November 10-13.National Parks – Veterans will have access to over 100 national parks that require entrance fees for free on Nov. 11.

Olive Garden-  All veterans and military active duty will receive a free meal from a special menu on Veterans Day.

Outback Steakhouse–All active, retired military and veterans get a Free Bloomin’ Onion® and a beverage on Veterans Day. Must have valid identification. Plus, all military personnel get 15% off from November 12 thru December 31, 2014.

NAPA - NAPA auto parts has a military discount program of 10% at select NAPA locations.

Price Chopper - Veterans enjoy a FREE 12oz. coffee & donut on them!

Professional Association of Innkeeping International – Inns and B&Bs throughout the country will open their doors to thank veterans for their service from November 10-11 with free or discounted stays.

Red Lobster-  Monday, November 10 to Thursday, November 13, 2014 service members past and present receive a complimentary appetizer from a special menu. Proof of service required.

Silo Restaurant, 203 Morgan Road in Greene, NY–Tuesday, November 11th, The Silo in Greene is honoring past and present veterans with a FREE dinner from 4pm-9pm…that’s any dinner from their impressive Early Bird menu (including Prime Rib).  Gary is asking that you please call ahead for reservations so they can reserve a table for you.  (607) 656-4377.

Starbucks-  This Veterans Day veterans, active duty military and their spouses get a free tall brewed coffee at participating U.S. company-owned stores.

Texas Roadhouse-  Select from a free special veterans lunch menu including a beverage and sides on November 11th.

TGI Fridays-  Veterans and active duty military service members are invited have lunch on T.G.I Friday’s this Veterans Day.

Tim Hortons Café & Bake Shop – Active-duty military and veterans receive a free donut all day.

Travel Centers of America – CDL drivers who are military veterans eat free at participating full-service restaurants.

Veterans Day travel and recreation discounts:Army Corp of Engineers Recreation Areas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will waive day use fees for veterans, active and reserve component service members and their families at the USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide on November 11.
