Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 23rd as the Greater Binghamton Airshow returns to the Greater Binghamton Airport. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the performances will run from noon till 4 p.m.

It's been a couple of years now since we had an air show in Broome County. I've gone to the air show in Binghamton couple of times before, and each time I really enjoyed myself. Not only getting to see these planes do their aerial acrobatics in person, but I also enjoyed touring the planes that were on the tarmac. Walking through some of those huge Airforce planes was something I will never forget.

According to County Executive Jason Garner's press conference at the airport, the event will be headlined by the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the US Air Force A-10 Demonstration Team. The air show is being made possible because of the sponsorship of Jeff Gural, President, CEO, and owner of Tioga Downs Casino. The ticket prices have yet to be determined. It will depend on how many more sponsors the organizers can sign on to help defer the cost.

It's been 4 years since we've had an air show in Binghamton and I'm really looking forward to this one. It's a family-friendly event and it will create memories that will last a lifetime for young and old. Now let's just hope for great weather.
