Poltergeists
There are different kinds of ghosts. , there are ghost who can move things and do mischief such as hide things or even touch humans. These kind of ghost are called poltergeists. The only way you can get your things back is either you talk to them and apologize sincerely if you have offended them. Explain that you didn't mean to hurt them, ask to have your things back and tell them how much it means to you. If still you didn't get it back on time you can ask a medium to help you communicate. Above all, PRAY. Because prayer is the most powerful of all!

Newark Valley, NY
There's a home by where the West Creek Flows
Where the water burns to a midnight glow
Within the ash, you'll discover the bones
Linked to the names on the stepping stones...
(Big Wally, 2012)

This was send in by one of our Whale Listeners....
My house is 200 + years old. When we moved here in 1962 we had plenty of cleaning up to do. This house was heated buy a huge, cast iron, coal furnace and there was a big pile of ashes out back that my Dad wanted to move. So we dug threw it and found bones that we were hoping were animal. As we dug through more of the ashes, we found two name plates from caskets, Mary and Johnathon Taylor. YIKES!  They they were missionaries in Haiti and died from malaria.
Our front step was granite, we flipped it over to find it was a stand for a head stone,we also had an out house and the stepping stone there was a head stone. The very same headstone for Johnathon Taylor.
This house is haunted and very mischievous . Some time things come up missing and show up someplace else. Not only does our water sometimes burn, (I know it's from the natural gas under the ground, or is it?  They, (the ghosts)  are upstairs most of the time. About six months ago I found my Ipod in the kitchen, on top of the china closet. I have been missing that contraption for a year and a half, and I know I left it upstairs in my bedroom. My mother had complained for years that things would come up missing or moved, and  that same thing is still happening.

My daughter refuses to go in the cellar or the attic. She hears people knocking at the door. When she goes to open it,  there's no one there. There are, from time to time, bumps and or noises in the attic and cellar. And speaking of the cellar...

Back when we first moved into this house in the early 60's, not only did my dad find that pile of ashes outside, he found a huge pile of coal ashes in the basement. After we found those bones, he said, 'don't touch that pile in the basement,' and that's where that pile remains, 50 years later.

There's only one thing that can explain all the unexplained things that happen in this house, and that is, THIS HOUSE IS HAUNTED.

Apparitions
According to theparanormalguide.com,  Appartitions or "classic ghosts" are the disembodied spirits of deceased people, often seen in haunted places. They may appear as solid and fully-formed as a human being, but more often than not they are translucent and insubstantial. Sometimes the full body appears (a "full-body" apparition) and sometimes only part of the body is visible.

Communication with these ghosts is possible in some cases. Sometimes this can be done via ordinary verbal communication, but sometimes alternative means are employed such as a Ouija board or EVPs.

The Devils Elbow
About fifteen miles east of Binghamton, New York on NYS Route 17. A dangerous curve in the road has a reputation for being haunted. In the 1930's, the curve was the site of numerous accidents and deaths.

One evening, a salesman approached the area in a heavy rainstorm. He was driving slowly because he knew how treacherous the curve could be, when he saw a woman on the side of the road. The woman had a scarf over her head and she wore a white coat. Although she was not hitchhiking, he pulled over to ask if she needed a ride. She thanked him, opened the door, and got into the front seat. She asked to be let out at a house just past Devil's Elbow. She was shivering so badly that the driver wrapped his jacket around her shoulders. When he pulled over to the house, he noticed that both the girl and his jacket had disappeared. Only a puddle of water remained on the passenger's side.

In disbelief he was determined to retrieve his jacket. When an elderly woman came to the door, he told her about picking up the girl in the white coat and bringing her to that address. The woman told him there was nothing she could do. Whenever it storms in the late October, her daughter tries to come home again. She was killed in a crash at Devil's Elbow ten years earlier. Other tales of the Lady in White on highway 17 continued to be told today....
