Garbage Truck Rollover Slows Rt. 17 Traffic near Hancock

New York State Police are investigating a tractor trailer rollover crash overnight October 25 that shut down Route 17 in both directions near Hancock in Delaware County.

The truck hauling garbage left the road shortly after 11 p.m. leaving the cab in one lane of travel and the trailer and debris in the other.

There were no apparent injuries.

Lanes of the highway were closed for several hours and at 5:30 a.m., State Police reported that, while traffic was moving, the clean-up of the site continued.
