When the word "free" comes up, it usually means just the opposite, or it's not worth anything to begin with. Damn, we live in such a skeptical world.

But sometimes when something is free, it may turn out to be a good thing in the long run. Take for example some items found for free on Binghamton Craigslist. Sure the item may be a bit used, beat up, no longer working, but can you turn that item into something useful? Sometimes.

Check out these free items you might actually use.

    Couch

Yea, it's had some use, but maybe you have a hunting lodge that could use some furniture. Pick up this gem! Who knows? Maybe it even folds out into a bed. Wouldn't that be a plus for something free?

    Lumber

Love campfires? Well it looks like there's plenty of boards here for a few of them. You will have to do some cutting, but that's a good thing because you'll get a bit of a workout in addition to free wood. Yea, I said that.

    Piano

You're never too old to learn how to play the piano. Who cares if it may need some tuning. You're just going to use the piano to store junk on the top of it anyway, so consider it an art piece in your living or dining room, and it's a good conversation starter - "I didn't know you play the piano?" Learn to play Chopsticks and leave it at that.

    Television

I had to think about this one. It may not work, but I've had many friends who know a bit about TVs, and they found it was a simple fix. If not, how about using it as a tall coffee table. It could be a neat looking retro item in your living room or mancave.

    Tires

The obvious choice if there's enough tread, is to use as they were intended. Otherwise, they may also be good as tire swings! Granted, you need lots of really strong rope and a safe, secure place to hang it, but you've seen tire swings before, right? Or, they could make for great planters in your backyard or garden.
