Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has declared a State of Emergency for areas in the County affected by flash flooding.

Officials say the declaration does not carry any travel restrictions but will help clear the way for the County to apply for cleanup funds.

Major roads in the region are said to be passible with the exception of a portion of State Route 17 in Tioga County.

Authorities say, however, motorist should be on the lookout for standing pools of water as well as debris that may still be across roads.
