The company providing drug treatment services at the former Broome Developmental Center has decided to rebrand itself.

Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare announced Tuesday it now will be known as Helio Health.

The firm opened an addiction treatment center in the town of Dickinson in April.

In a statement, the company said the new name is inspired by an ancient Greek term relating to the sun.

President Jeremy Klemanski said the renaming decision was "an easy one because we have experienced substantial growth." In a news release, Klemanski said the company's name had become outdated.

Klemanski said the new name reflects that the organization focuses on more than just behavioral health and that its services reach much farther than Syracuse.

The company now has about 500 beds and more than 360 employees in Syracuse, Rochester and the Binghamton area.
