A Fallen Firefighter’s Family needs Help!

Volunteer Owego Fire Department Capt. Matthew J. Porcari,  lost his life earlier this week after falling through the floor in a burning home in Newark Valley, NY.

 

 

 

 

Matt was in the process of rebuilding his flooded out home in Owego, and friends  are trying to finish the work that Matt, started.

 

Donations are being accepted at Home Central in Owego. They are working with Justin Hulslander of Hulslander Custom Concrete, in order to complete the project for Matt’s wife and children.

 

If you would like to make a donation to help them complete the work, you can go to any Home Central Store, and ask to make a donation to account # 803.

 

If you want to help in the renovation, you can do so by leaving your info and Home Central will get that to Justin Hulslander.

Service and calling hours information:

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Owego Middle School Gymnasium, 3 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego.

 

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m., also at Owego Middle School. The service is expected to last 1 hour and 15 minutes. A reception will follow at the Owego Middle School Cafeteria.

 

The procession from the school to the funeral home will be restricted to family members and members of the Owego Fire Department and invited agencies only. All other agencies are asked to remain at the school for the reception.
