I definitely consider myself lucky to work for a company that actually wants us to spend time on Facebook. We may be a radio station, but we're also incredibly active on social media and if we didn't spend time on Facebook and other social media sites while we're at work, the company would question us why we weren't.

However, more and more companies are starting to block social media sites in their workplace, and more specifically, Facebook.

Think about it- Facebook has a way of sucking us in. You sign in to Facebook to wish someone a happy birthday and an hour later you realize that you've been sucked in and have looked at 15 different profiles and their photos and videos and posts and all you meant to do is wish one single person a happy birthday.

Some number crunchers at NBC News took at look at Facebook use and figured out that an unbelievable $900 billion is lost each and every year in employee productivity because so many people are spending so much time on Facebook while at work.

And get this- the numbers that were crunched only included people on Facebook believed to be earning minimum wage. That $900 billion dollar figure would definitely skyrocket if it included people making higher salaries.
