Every dog (and cat) dreams of a loving "forever home" and the unique rescue group, Every Dog's Dream is working hard to make that dream come true.

Speaking on the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up this Saturday, volunteers Mary Hubschmidtt and Wendy Walter talk about the all-foster home organization that immediately places rescued pets into a home environment in preparation for adoption.

Every Dog's Dream was started by Audrey Woerter as a dog rescue for Broome and surrounding counties but Hubschmidtt says the organization has expanded to cats and other small animals. In fact, Walter says she is currently fostering a mother cat and nine kittens at her home.

The ladies also talk about the process of fostering pets and why they do it.

Every Dog's Dream doesn't have a shelter but it does have an adoption center  located in the Petco store in on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City where Hubschmidtt is on staff as a pet trainer. The center is open Monday through Saturday from 1-7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People can contact the organization's founder, Audrey Woerder at (607) 242-2346.

Southern tier Close Up can be heard Sunday at 6am on 99.1 The Whale1515111.
