Authorities say 40-year-old Santonio Jones of North Street was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony.

Investigators say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of North Street.

Police believe Jones approached two people who were in a vehicle. He allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun. The robber ran from the area after occupants of the vehicle then handed over some cash.

A police officer spotted Jones on North Street near Parsons Avenue a few minutes after the robbery occurred. He was taken into custody without incident.

No injuries were reported during the robbery. Police say they recovered the stolen cash and a black BB pistol.

Jones was arraigned in Endicott village court on Wednesday. He was sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
