44-year-old Vannareth Vongkhamchahn is facing felony robbery and other charges in connection with the incident shortly after 11 Monday night at the Speedway on Main Street.

Deputies say they responded to a hold-up alarm at the store shortly after 11 p-m and determined Vongkhamchahn had intentionally driven his vehicle into the building, swiped the beer then drove off in the clerk’s car.  The responding Deputies saw the stolen vehicle leaving the parking lot and pursued it a short distance before taking the Endicott man into custody.

He’s charged with felony robbery, felony criminal mischief, and felony reckless endangerment.  He’s also charged with misdemeanor petit larceny, several traffic infractions, failing to comply with police and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
